Peer Review

The peer reflection really helped me with determining if i understood what was asked of me. When writing my essay i wasn’t sure if i met all the requirements of the essay. I passed out my essay to two people and got some positive feed back from them. The main thing i was lacking in my essay was details. After my peers pointed out where i could use more  details. I went back and fixed my essay where my peers showed me i needed help. The peer reflection really helped me out in making my essay as good as it can be.

Peer Review Reflection

I found peer review to be quite helpful. Being able to pass my rough draft around to a few people allowed me to get useful input on how I could improve it for my final draft. One useful piece of advice that I received was that though I expressed what literacy meant throughout my paper, I did not clearly define it. Another was that I had a few run-on sentences that I could word better. When I write my final draft I will apply the feedback I have been given, as well as add more detail into each section of my paper.

Krystalle Peer Review Reflection

Overall I really liked the peer review. I wasn’t sure if my narrative was following what was being asked of us, but now I see that it was. It was really helpful to be told that I should expand more upon the “escaping” I mentioned in my narrative. I was contemplating it before, but now I have feedback saying that this part needs work I’ll add more details in. I was also told to add onto my establishment of the setting, which I may have a bit difficulty in doing without ruining the flow of my paper. I plan to revise my ending and clean it up so it’s less all over the place for my final draft. The questions on the peer review sheet were actually really good, the question I could think of being added is maybe to comment on the title we each chose.

Peer review Reflection

During the peer review reflection, I got some advice on my paper. I only wrote about two and a half pages so I already knew that the details were lacking. I struggled with trying to add more to write.  My peers said that my grammar was good which surprised me. They mainly recommended me to add more details and talk more about literacy.  This advice will help me on my final draft.

Claudia’s Peer Review Reflection

On Wednesday, my classmates and I read and reviewed our essays together. The most helpful advice that I have received was to expand on my “analysis” portion of the essay. I realized that I gave a lot of storytelling but no explanation as to why these events or experiences were significant in my literacy essay. For my final draft, I will try to write a better and more clear analysis. I also noticed after reading the comments that I lacked a character arc. I don’t have much dynamic throughout my essay, so I need to work on developing my character. This could be done by introducing an issue in the story and showing how I am able to overcome the issue with my literary experiences.

Peer Review Reflection

I found the peer review session to be very helpful and I learned about ways to make my essay better.  One of the people who revised my essay told me that I needed to make the definition of literacy a lot more clear and to work on my transitions from paragraph to paragraph.  After reading my essay again, I saw the flaws that were pointed out and quickly made a note of it.   I vaguely talked about literacy, and I think that I should have just written explicitly written the definition to let the reader know about what my definition of the word is.  I also say that the transitions from paragraph to paragraph would seem a little abrupt and even though it is a problem that is seen in most of my writings, I wish to work on it and make it better in this essay.  Overall, I really enjoyed the time that we had in class and I wish to make my essay better based on the input from my peers.

Emily’s Peer Review Reflection

Overall, I found the peer review to be helpful. Getting feedback from a professor is constructive, but when you can sit one on one with a friend, a more to-the-point kind of revision happens. The most helpful advice I received was a critique on my sentence structure. The student who reviewed my essay pointed out the wordiness of some of the sentences and I recognized how I could eliminate unnecessary words. When revising my essay, I will scrutinize my word choice and create more concise sentences. In the future, peer review might be improved by a more guided list of errors or successes the editor should look for.

Peer Review Reflection

Three people peer reviewed my essay and they all had the same thing in common. I didn’t discuss digital literacy hardly at all in my essay. I had so much to discuss about regular literacy and it seemed more like a suggestion in the prompt. So my entire essay is about my literacy journey and then there’s one lonely paragraph about technology. It doesn’t fit in with the essay very well. I think the best way for me to go about it is to try to make it it fit better. I should create a better transition into the topic.

I also noticed that, in my group of four, we didn’t have that much analysis. Our essays were mostly stories of our literacy journeys and there was never a problem with them. In all of my peer review worksheets, however, I wrote that there needs to be more analysis. It was written for my essays as well. Analysis is just something that needs to be worked on and incorporated into the essay more.

Proof Reading And Revisions

After 3 of my peers in class yesterday had edited my essay, it had helped greatly and now I know how to revise my essay to make it better. One of the people that revised my essay had told me they liked one part of my essay and that I should expand. Peer editinf and proof reading is a great thing and really helps people see what they can do better with their papers. Sometimes your peers see somehing you should change and you don’t which can be very helpful. When i go back to revise me essay im going to change a part of my essay in which i expand a old memory of mine and just reread it to make it more clear and detailed.

Peer Review Reflection

I like the idea of having your peer proofread, give their opinions, make comments and so on. Paying attention to how others thinks about my essay, helps me where to change and work on.  However, one thing I find interesting is that my peer didn’t give me as much critical advice as I expected to see. Maybe because that’s the first time. But I know my paper needs a lot of improvement. They both suggest me to pay more attention in paragraph structure, which gets a little bit confused and doesn’t connect closely. Since my essay is more like a story, I didn’t mention much about what literacy means to me. I guess I should add that part. I also got to know I need to put more details about how I change my attitude towards writing.
